About
Reverend Diane Hebblethwaite
I’m happy to meet you. I am Reverend Diane Hebblethwaite, an ordained contemporary spiritual minister with Canadian International Metaphysical Ministry, a licensed Wedding Officiant in Alberta, and a Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant. I honour and respect all philosophies, beliefs, and traditions to create ceremony with spirituality that is authentic for you.
Living on an acreage outside Stony Plain, Alberta, I’m a nature nurturer and people-lover; creative, caring, warm, and enthusiastic, and those traits led me to spend many years as a leader in the charitable sector. As much as I was already focussed on making a difference in the world around me in those roles, I also learned to love speaking in front of audiences, especially when I was passionate about the topic.
(This was a surprise to those who had known a shy girl… if you are nervous about being the centre of attention during your ceremony, I can empathize and help you feel comfortable with that!)

I am an ordained Metaphysical Minister with CIMM. Metaphysics is a non-traditional and more spiritual approach to religion and for me represents my deep connection to nature and the earth.
After rigorous study & training, I have been certified as a Life-Cycle Celebrant by the Celebrant Foundation and Institute. I am a ceremony specialist and enjoy getting to know a couple, a loved one’s family, or an individual and then collaborating to craft and officiate personalized ceremonies, memorials, or celebrations for people in all stages of life.
I am certified as a facilitator of Personality Dimensions ® which is a temperament assessment tool which has participants learn and develop an understanding about their own values, strengths, joys and stressors and is a great foundation for communication. Recognizing strengths and appreciating differences can help people be more effective in life and for me it is fascinating to witness participants’ “aha” moments in learning to overcome relationship barriers.
Borrowing the term from a Celebrant colleague, I admit to being a “Maximalist” when it comes to celebrating occasions or holidays. After volunteering with the local Christmas Hampers project, it fills my heart to have an explosion of old-fashioned Christmas in our home. My husband despairs my endless collection of props for each celebration of a new spring, fall, or harvest, but he loves the ensuing fun.
My “happy” place is my little greenhouse/studio. Although I love spending time there with my computer working on a Windsong Ceremonies project, you will most often find me with dirt under my nails (and in my hair). I love to grow beautiful flowers and enjoy a garden full of healthy vegetables that are as close to organic as possible. It fills me with joy to feel connected to the damp fertile soil and then to share the abundance of my harvest with others. This spring my over-zealous seeding of our favourite tomatoes was shared with loved ones and then several dozen more were donated to a large country gardener who shares her fall bounty with the local foodbank.
My biggest joy is my family, including my husband who I married only four years ago. The excitement of planning, creating, and a little fretting is still as fresh in my mind as the very personal and unique ceremony, filled with ritual, that I wrote for that fall day. We were surrounded by friends and our blended family of 5 adult children and even a couple grandchildren. My 80 year old mother walked me down the leaf-strewn pathway and our 6 siblings served champagne for the happiest toast I have ever shared.
When I told our grand-daughter that I was now going to be able to marry people, she remembered that wedding day and was very worried. “Well, if you marry other people, what’s going to happen to Grampie?”. That took a little more explaining, but she is fully on board supporting me now that she understands my role😊
